The following is an abbreviated history of New Heights Baptist Church:
1985
October 13 First Meeting in Truman McBrayer’s garage
October 20 Organized Terrace Heights Bible Class
December 22 Bro. Glenn Wilson called as Pastor and subsequently accepted,
effective January 1, 1986
1986
February 2 Name changed to New Heights Baptist Church
February 9 Moved, organized and held first service at American Legion Building.
Received 27 charter members
April 6 Celebrated organization – 33 charter members
October 20 Accepted into Marshall Baptist Association
1987
January 25 First Baptismal service held at Boaz First Baptist Church
1988
July 24 Groundbreaking of property at Walnut and South Broad Streets
December 25 Moved into first unit of new building
1989
February 5 Dedication of new Building
July 30 Groundbreaking of second unit (Educational Building)
1990
January 7 Moved into second unit (Educational Building)
February 4 Dedication of Educational Building. Fourth Anniversary celebration
